Millions of people have chosen Britain to be their home. They are
British by Choice
The way we talk about immigration is broken. Britain is a great country of workers, artists, scientists, founders, and thinkers. It’s the cradle of the Industrial Revolution and the World Wide Web. British achievements and prosperity were built by those who were born here, and by those who chose to join.
But millions of people who chose to be British have no political voice. We are barely talked about, and never talked to. When politicians do talk about us, they talk about caricatures and extremes, not about neighbours, workmates, or friends.
British by Choice is changing this. We talk to the media. We engage with Westminster and push for fairer laws. We write and shout from the rooftops.
Our campaigns:
Abolish the "Clock Reset"
Our immigration system punishes working people for splitting up by "resetting the clock" on their settlement. The penalty could become much worse under the government's planned changes.
We are fixing it.
Earned Settlement Consultation
In May 2025, the government announced sweeping changes to the immigration system. Now, the government has opened a consultation on the new settlement rules (ILR).
We represent our supporters and will contribute to the consultation.
Who we are:
A political organisation pushing for representation of people who chose to become British.
You uprooted your life and chose Britain to be your new home. You have your career, your family, and a thousand extra problems that come with moving countries. There is no energy left to engage with the media and politicians. But this means that, for them, you don't exist as a person.
Four percent of the country are British by choice. We want recognition beyond being faceless "immigrants" and "net migration numbers". We want to fix how we talk about immigration.
